- Is wood flooring water resistant ?
No. Wood floors are not water resistant. Some specialty woods such as kumaru
and mesquite, however, can be used for both internal and external applications.
- Do you sell outside of Miami, Florida?
We sell to all parts of the globe but only provide local delivery in the South
Florida area. For deliveries outside the United States we can deliver to the
Port of Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.
- Is there a scratch resistant or animal resistant wood floor?
No. No wood floor is completely scratch proof although laminate wood flooring
tends to hold up well to kids and pets.
- What is the range of prices on the different wood flooring products?
Our wood floor products begin at $1.20/sqft for laminates and can
reach anywhere up to $13.50/sqft for our more exotic products.
- How much time must the floor planks be left at the site in order
to acclimate?
The following guidelines provide the minimum number of days required
for each of the various wood floor types:
- engineered wood floors - 0 day(s)
- laminate wood floors - 1 day(s)
- bamboo floors - 4 day(s)
- solid hardwood floors - 10 day(s)
- How long does it take to install a wood floor?
Installation times avry my job/project depending on the consition
of the existing floors, size, type of wood flooring product, etc. A typical
600 sqft project which has already been prepared for installation should take
approximately 2.5 days.
- How are the wood floors installed?
Wood floors can be installed in a variety of ways. The type of installation
ususally depends on the sub-floor and can be either glue-dowm, nail-down for
solid hardwoods and engineered wood floors or click system (i.e. floating)
for laminate wood flooring.
- How long before I receive my wood floors?
In-stock wood floor products are delivered same day if purchased
before noon otherwise the next day. Special order products vary from 2 days
to 2 weeks. Call us for a specific time.
- What is the guarantee on the wood floor?
Each manufacturer provides a different level of guarantee or warranty
on their wood floor products. To find out more call us or contact your specific
manufacturer.
- What is the guarantee on the installation?
Installations done through The Wood Floor Depot are usually guaranteed
for up to one year by the installer.
